QUALITY MANAGEMENT
What is Authority in a QMS?
Authority in a QMS
Responsibility is not the same as authority. Having authority allows you to delegate responsibilities to another person by instructing them to complete the work at hand. As a result, they will be held accountable for the work, and it will be in their best interests for them to execute it. In contrast to leadership, authority is frequently accompanied by a hierarchy or titles.
A line manager at an organization is unlikely to be able to issue orders to the CEO or make major decisions for the company. It is usually the CEO of a firm that has the ultimate influence, and it is up to them to decide how much power they want to provide to their stakeholders.
