What are OSHA Standards?

OSHA Standards are rules that employers need to comply with so that their workplaces are free of serious recognized hazards. OSHA Standards were created to protect workers from workplace hazards.

Hazardous chemical exposure levels are regulated, safe practices and equipment are required, and employers must monitor hazards and keep records of workplace injuries and illnesses.

The OSHA standards require fall protection, prevent trenching cave-ins, prevent infectious diseases, ensure workers enter confined spaces safely, prevent exposure to harmful substances like asbestos, and ensure that machines are guarded, provide respirators or other safety equipment, and provide training for certain dangerous jobs.
