ISO 45001

What is ISO 45001?

ISO 45001 is an international standard that helps you protect your employees. Organizations of any size or industry can use this standard, and existing management systems can be integrated. The ISO 45001 standard defines an environment that aims to reduce risk and injuries, increase safety, and help organizations operate a happy and healthy workplace.

Certification to ISO 45001

Businesses are not required to become certified, but it can be beneficial to you by showing that they have voluntarily met these requirements. A certification shows your Board, your Management, your employees, and your customers that you take your business seriously. This is because all of your working processes are formal and systematically designed to prevent harm to your employees and others. Having a certification will give them a higher level of assurance compared to not having one.

This cab achieved by following the following steps:

  1. Analyse the business context pertaining to OH&S and any internal or external factors that may affect the organization
  2. Consider what you want the management system to accomplish when defining the scope
  3. Be clear about your OHS objectives and policies
  4. Establish a timeline in which you want to implement this system and how you will go about it
  5. Identify any competence or resource gaps prior to implementation of the standard

What are the benefits of ISO 45001?

By obtaining ISO 45001 certification for your organization, you will be able to operate an occupational health and safety (OHS) management system which will allow you to manage risks, protect against harm and improve safety performance.

Potential Key Benefit of implementing an ISO 45001 management system:
