Operational Planning and Control

8.1. General

Control processes and implement actions from clause 6 (Planning)

• Provide Operating criteria to control the processes

8.1.2 Eliminating hazards and reducing risk

Your company will eliminate hazards according to the hierarchy of controls

Permanent or temporary changes must be planned and controlled

• Changes to products, services, processes, locations, surroundings, organisational work conditions, equipment and workforce
• Legal and other requirements
• Information about Hazards
• Advancement in knowledge technology

8.1.4. Procurement

Control the procurement of products and services

• Product safety (can be part of change management)
• Product safety requirements to be determined and communicated
• Control contractor activities that affect you or your other parties and protect contractors from hazards or risks created by your organisation
• Control outsourced processes through your OHS management system

8.2. Emergency preparedness and response

A process to prepare for and respond to emergencies

• Emergency response plan
• Training
• Periodic drills to test capability to evaluate the performance
• Take actions to improve
• Communicate with relevant parties
• Consider the capabilities of interested parties and involve them in the planning when required.
