Quality Management System ISO 9001:2015 Engagement of People
There is a saying that some of us are more capable than most of us, but none of us are more capable than all of us. Team is the tool to success!
What is engagement of people
It is one of the most important ISO 9001:2015 basics. People are a company’s most valuable asset. When employees are involved, they become more experienced, invested and reliable to deliver value.
What are examples of employee engagement
The ongoing cycle of customer experience success is made up of four main items: employees, customers, management and data. What are the benefits of focusing on internal culture to drive success?
One of the main advantages to assessing employee engagement is the ability to take something concrete such as sense of purpose, satisfaction and commitment and turn it into solid data.
With this knowledge, companies can pave a way forward, continuing to rely on regularly updated data to access progress and adjust when necessary.
While no need is more important than the others, they depend on each other to get the best employee engagement. The most important needs to engagement will vary from company to company.
These depend on employees age or income, the rise and fall in the economy and change inside the company. There is no one-size-fits-all method to employee engagement. It must be measured and dealt with on a case-by-case basis to produce results.
The importance of employee engagement
When putting your Quality Management System in place, involve your employees. Many Quality Managers believe that the employees have little to offer.
However, employees know the processes inside out. Many of them have been working at the company before most of the senior management were employed. Employees know what goes wrong. They know exactly who in the company lacks training and experience.
They know which employees know how to do their job and can quickly and correctly sort out a problem. New staff can also offer advice. They have seen how things have worked or haven’t worked at other companies.Very rarely do Quality Managers ask the employees what they think, know or see. During an audit they may involve the employees with a question or two. But often, the employees input is never asked for. Management most of the time talk to each other.
Challenges to building your Quality Management System
When you first start with the design and implementation, you might have just been trained. You may not have put a system in place. This challenge can be huge when you introduce a new Quality Management System into a proven company. Another test is employees that have worked for the company for many years. They can have control but are not interested in a Quality Management System.
They resist change and can stop you from putting it in place. They can be argumentative and threatening. Approach these employees. Find out what their fears are. They may be frightened of losing their jobs or being given a task that they are unable to perform.
They don’t want to look stupid. Discuss the principles of the Quality Management System and any problems they might have. Ask questions and listen to the employees.
Over time, these employees will start to trust you and their attitude will change. The employees that didn’t want the Quality Management System will become your faithful supporters.
